Default New Issue.....What is it?

So Im heading to work today and my battery light comes on flickering so I know its time for alternator and battery change. So I get that done. Now Inside the hood it sounds like when you have engine noise going thru your amps and speakers. It disappears at higher rpms. but comes back when in low idle. I looked and looked and came out nothing. Turned my amps off, still nothing. What is that noise. It appears to be in the water pump, altn power steer area. Thanks

Whining or slight grinding-ish sound? The latter is probably water pump.

tru the water pump first.

i have a feeling it may be your alternator, but doesnt hurt to try the pump first

Absolutely can be the alternator. Not hard to pinpoint where its at. Get a 3-4ft hose and use it as a stethoscope. Put one end by your ear and point the other side directly ON the alternator and anywhere else it may be and listen to where its at
