I AM DEFINITELY IN FOR A CHROME BEZEL!

I've been looking around for this for a long time. I'd be willing to pay some good money for one.

Here is a picture of the underside of the two pieces in question. Note: there is a small black ABS Plastic add-on, to the edge of the chrome bezel (58842-30090). It doesn't look as if it needs to be modified in any way. A simply "swap" will work just fine.

I am currently working on obtaining a few more...(I now have three of them), but so far it doesn't look favorable.

The locking mechanism is clearly different.
Chrome part: Has a long "c" channel (side you insert first) and the opposite side there are three drop down blades.

Non-chromed: Has three short "c" channel hooks on each side (one right above the index finger). The piece can be dropped in by squeezing the sides in.

My concern is .. IF the non-chrome part is chromed by what ever process, the "c" shaped plastic hook snap/lock mechanism may not work, if the piece becomes rigid.

Why Lexus is not selling the chromed rings seperately ???

What I dont understand is how they dont make them anymore. When I got my 02 Sportdesign, like a month ago, it had(has) a chrome bezel. They must still be made...

 

It's not that they don't make it anymore, it's that Lexus won't sell just the bezel anymore, they make you buy the whole center console to get it. Pretty bad PR in my opinion.
