The GPS cd-rom player makes a noise after 10 minutes of driving. I can only hear the noise if the radio is off. Dealer said it's the fan. I don't remember hearing this noise before. Any ideas?

 

I know this is an old post but I am experiencing the same problem. I start to here a whining noise coming from the trunk area after about 10 minutes of driving. This is either coming from the DVD GPS navigation unit or the amplifier mounted right underneath it. The dealer said it's the fan due to overheating but this never happened until a few months ago and I've had my car for about 4 years now. Has anyone else experienced this problem beside GS4304U and myself? If so, did anyone find a fix? Thanks for your input.

 

I just heard this noise for the first time a couple days ago.

Anybody else had this happen? Does something need cleaned/replaced here or is this normal and I have just managed to miss it for this long?
