Default GS4 Spoiler on GS3???

The guy I purchased my GS3 from had installed a rear spoiler on it. It was a Lexus installed, Lexus spoiler. The problem is when you shut the trunk, it will shut with such force that you think the spoiler is gonna snap off. Obviously, there needs to be more tension on the trunk lid. I've fiddled with those arms but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Any ideas before I forget and shut the trunk normally and watch my spoiler break off&$&*?

You need to change the tension bar for one of a GS400 which fits between the two hinges. Its because the stardard bar cannot cope with the added wait of the spoiler.

I don't know if there are different diameter bars for cars with and cars without the rear spoiler. I do know that the stiffest setting for the bar is in the upper holes. Someone posted a how-to recently, but I don't remember who, so try a search and see if you can find it. Sheesh, based on this post, there's more I don't know than I do

Hi, Don't know about moving the bar to different holes? Here in the UK my dealer fitted the spoiler and the boot (trunk) kept falling on my head. They told me they had to get from Lexus a different tension bar and fit it.

I did not notice if it was thicker, I just thought it was stiffer, but could be wrong.

Ok...a time for me to vent...this really pisses me off...Lexus charges like 800 bucks for the wing...and it dosent even take out the rear brake light...you have to spend like another 400 bucks to get rid of it...that has always pissed me off...i know i am off the subject here but just had to tell someone...
