Nice car, great choice. Owning a Lexus does have a different feel.

Thanks for warm welcome. I am really enjoying my new purchase. I am very excited to start modding this comfy sedan into something a bit more aggressive.

I'm also new to the club. Just snatched up a GS300 with 114k miles on it. Have a couple of things to give attention to (door locks, new tires, etc.), but I'm feeling pretty good about it. Something I wanted for a long, long time, and finally got my hands on.

i have been trying to search for any info on swapping out the auto trans in favor of a nice manual trans. i am planning on building the car up for about 550-600whp. nothing against the auto trans...i just like manual much better. the only bit of info i do know is that most people use the IS300 clutch pedal and its a serious PITA to install. i have only found one thread here where the owner is doing an R154 swap, but its not quite done yet and i didnt see a parts list (might have looked past it).

any info, links, builds would be greatly appreciated.

Sharp "SD" GS3 man! It's a 2002, right? I don't think they made the Sport Design past 2003...but I might be wrong. '02 was the first year for them though...Love that dark charcoal woodgrain (which is specific to your model only) You got the all wood shift ****, too right?
Shortly after I purchased my ('01) GS430... a buddy from work picked up an '03 Sport Design. White with Black leather... SUPER clean though. 50k miles on it. So, I got to check out all the little differences. (the '03-'04 <--if they made them in '04 still... had "Titanium" colored headlight housings, the fender design pieces <--whatever they're called.

THOSE ARE SOME SIICKKKK A$$ OTHER RIDES YOU'VE OWNED, TOO...WOW!

Welcome to CL.. Best of luck with the Lexus bro.

Back in 03 Rob Millen Motorsports dropped a 430 V8 into an IS300. When they did the swap, they swapped the tranny also. They mated the V8 to a TT Supra manual trans. I would imagine that mating it to the 300 would be much easier. Do a search, you may find some info you're looking for.

The First Mod.

Sonar LED tails from "Hi im SHON". Love how they add a classy look to an otherwise stock GS. No brake error code.

Only thing I did was wrap all the wiring since it was still mostly loose and had to pick up some 1156 bulbs for the turn signals. Other than that easy straight forward install.
