Keyless Entry reception sucks!!!! WHY?
yup, same here. I need to be at least 5ft away from the car for my key signal to work. Maybe 10ft if I'm lucky. At first I thought maybe it was low battery but I installed a new one and no difference. However my RX300 gets almost 30ft with no problem.
I don't know about health risk the rf that comes out of remote at any giving time is. Way less than a phone call or people that use there fm transmitter(gag!!!!) in there cars to listen to there mp3
i reall am not kidding about this, i shot a video of it last night but i didnt DL it to my computer to upload it here...will do so soon. only time it normally doesnt work is if you have broken your jaw cause you loose the natural amperage your body produces
Ya the under the chin thingy really works. It increases range considerably.
I think Lexus kept the range short on purpose for security reasons. You don't want to accidentally hit the unlock button when your 100 ft away from your car, or be tempted to hit the unlock button when your 100 ft away from your car to get your groceries in, giving a theft or car jacker time to enter your car before you do.

The reason Lexus did this is to protect the codes that the remote sends out to the receiver unit in the car. There are Hi-tech thieves that have "toys" that will catch these codes when you use your remote.
Read all about the chin here.
