Default Gs misc questions...

OKguys, here I go again

* FOGLAMPS: Are they yellow or white? I have seen a few Lexus' and they had some really YELLOW foglamps (mostly LS's and IS's). Haven't seen many GS's with the foglamps on. Also, will the foglamps only come on with the headlights.. or can I get them on with the parking lights only?

* L-Tuned: I was wondering if the 18 inch L Tuned Salinas "rub" at all on the L Tuned springs/shock setup. I know the ride height is lowered about an inch.. Just wanted to know if it would present a problem.

* L-Tuned Part Deux: How is the ride quality with the L Tuned AND the 18's? I don't want the wife to complain of a "harsh" ride. She didn't complain much about my bimmer's Sport suspension.. but she did complain of the road noise.

Thanks guys
Pete

i only can answer fog related question so here it is:

fog lights comes white *and* yellow.. depends on person's taste i guess.. and manufacture's default is fog lights can be on only with your headlights.. but i know some people re-wire them and now they can turn 'em on with parking lights..

fogs - you get yellow foglamps if you have HIDs, otherwise they're white.

l-tuned with springs/shocks/18s won't ever rub. One thing I don't like about the Lexus wheel package is the tires are 235 and 265 which are too small. They should be 245 and 275. Oh one more thing - I don't like the rims either.

As far as ride quality with 18s, it's comfortable and 18s are hardly any different than factory 17s (although def. different to 16s) and the springs/shocks eliminate the 'floaty' feeling and excessive Buick-like oscillations.

The mix of the yellow and the blue\purple is really sick looking. Otherwise, the white and the white is kinda boring.

You cant turn on your fogs by themselves unless you trip the wires like Bit said.

The fogs will also turn off automaticly if you have your high-beams on.

My GS has no problem with the ride quality or with the wheels rubbing. The L-Tuned package is perfect for what I was looking for and have absolutly no regrets. I guess I can officially say that my GS performes like a BMW with the quality of a Lexus.

On another note, I was very hesitant in getting the TRD Sways, but am glad I did...they were the icing on the cake. I think they should be a must with the L-Tuned suspension. The ride quality does become a little harsher, but it is not bad in any way.

I've got the L-Tuned kit with the 18" wheels, and came from an M Roadster. Granted, that's got one of the harshest suspension set-ups of any BMW on the road today, but the Lexus is smooth as silk in comparison. I can tell that it is tighter than stock, but you don't sacrifice much ride comfort at all.
