Default Recaro Seats....One more time...

I guess the last thread turned into a disaster....
Some people got all upset.
I will try once more.
There is NO group buy yet....but there can be....I just need to know what type of interest there is. Recaro marketing managers that I have worked with told me that they will fabricate GS brackets only if there is enough of a demand.....there was no specific number given. But lets just see what kind of numbers we can get. I work for one of the biggest seat manufacturers in the world and I can tell you that Recaro is GOOD stuff. The Lexus OEM seats are often used as benchmarks where I work but NOT for racing. If you ggo witha recaro it will not be as luxurious as the OEM seat but it will be way more functional in sharp corners with all the suspension upgrades I see people getting around here. These type of seat does not matter....there just has to be an interest in any seats....the brackets will be the same.
Ethan....PM me and we can talk...I would hate to break CL rules about group buys.
Thanks
MIKE
p.s. everyone just relax...they are only seats.

how about list the potantial models from recaros...

i nominate: Ergo "style"..would like to see them in leather..also how about just some ~price so we know if they are within our budget...this way you get more serious responses/buyers

That is the model I nominate as well(Make:Ergo ,Model:"style")

A couple of things I want to address:

1-If the #1/#2 seat memory options are not going to work with the Recaro, will they still memorize my steering wheel/rearview mirror settings??
2-Can the Recaro have "plug and play" electronics with the existing Lexus seat hardware??? This would allow the seat to be electronically adjusted and still use the memory buttons as well.....
Just a thought....Tiny

Default hey

Hey,

You can count me in, but only if this is a poll to gauge interest in Recaros so that brackets can be made for the Lexus/Toyota cars.

I went to a local shop here in San Diego some time ago and asked about the Recaros they were selling ($1500, power seats, with the pump thingy to adjust the lumbar I think). When I asked if they would work on my GS and my friend's IS, the guy told us that they sold brackets and seats for any car, including Lexus. I wonder if they were pulling my leg?

So I'm a bit confused right now as to whether or not they have brackets made already... but if they don't, you can say that I'm interested in having them fabricated for Lexus vehicles.

While I can't imagine spending the dough to replace the factory seats I looked at Recaro's web site and thought the Ergonomic 'orthopaed' seats looked better than the Ergonomic Style. Although the web site picture are too darned small.

The stock seats are HORRIBLE for performance driving but I think I'd rather put those kinda $$ to forced induction...so I can slide around even more!!! HAHA.

I love the idea but I think cost is going to be too high. Also, getting them to "play nice" with the stock controls might take an electronics wizzard.

Late.
