Car not starting
Contacts are a normal wear part, kind of like brake pads. And worn break pads make different noises at different temps but they are still worn out and beyond specs.
So when we have parts that were down beyond factory spec, factors like temperature do have an effect.
...good luck with your new starter.
OK, yes, but a worn out starter is intermittent, whether it is 0* or 100* it still is worn out. Even though it may act differently at different temps as you all say, the temperature did not cause the starter to fail. The cooper contacts in the solenoid are worn beyond spec.

Hey I think we were just misunderstanding each other, I know the cold didn't cause the problem, it was just only showing symptoms in the cold. Anyway I replaced the starter...took me 3 hours to get off and 15 min to get back on lol I finally found my swivel joint...

So far so good
