Default Neat Trick With Keyless Entry

One of my friends with an Audi S4 would always hold his key up to his chin whenever he hit the unlock button for his car. I wondered why he did that and he told me it utilizes his head as an antennae.

Okay, now here's the trick -- I tried this up a flight of stairs, facing down to my car which was AT LEAST a football field and a half away. I put the key part in my mouth and pressed the button to unlock the doors. Lights blinked! Held it down and all the windows went down. People around my car quickly displayed the WTF face.

Very nice trick. I know a lot of people were complainign about the range of the keyless entry. Hope this helps!

I've found that the aluminum foil cone I wear on my head to keep the harmful rays out also works great as a key antenna......have to be careful which direction the cone is pointing though.........

That's funny but, true. I have a couple of friend's that work for a mobile audio shop and they told me that when the battery is running low on your transmitter, put the transmitter under your chin and open your mouth and it somehow amplifys the signal. I know it sounds funny, but it does work.

man, i just don't understand those last few posts. but thanks brendan. so you put the key part in your mouth...did you close and lick the damn thing or just ahhh and unlock?

without intent, sometimes i'll put the windows down then remote start the thing and every so often some girls on campus will freak wondering what the hell just happened. had some scary things happen here lately, so it doesn't help them, but its funny to watch

Im surprised you never knew of that before. It works with all remote applications. All you do is hold the remote upto your chin or forehead, and walla, it works better and further!

don't think you need to open your mouth for optimal performance.

For sure I never knew that was possible to do with the remote. I'm gonna have to try that...although my remote works from VERY far on its own.

WOW, 1-1/2 football fields? The range depends on how many filled cavities you have. Brendan, been to the dentist lately?
