I guess the reason I called it the upper ball-joint is because the ball-joints are integrated with the control arms.Originally Posted by raceforgt
Im not confused at all, thank you. Just wondering why everyone calls the upper control arm the upper ball joint. I had a feeling upper control arms are what everyone is talking about but to someone who has no idea reading this thread, if they go out and search for "upper ball joints" or ask a dealer for that part, they will be sorely misguided. I know what they are and I know where to get them. But thank you again!
Good luck with the project. I hope it'll fixed your problem. I changed mine out and no more popping.

That is true but the only thing actually called a "ball joint" is the lower ball joints. Other than that, anything having a ball joint attached to it is named for its primary function instead. Thus the location of an upper ball joint is on the control arms, which have a very important function. This name (upper control arms) takes precedent. I just wanted to make sure anyone reading this doesn't second guess the term and buy the wrong part to replace.Originally Posted by Agent0024
