I know what you are saying since my place is only 10 min walking to your work place. (Sorry, I'm too busy to visit you. Moving to a new place next week.) Hand signal is good but sometimes the drivers just won't let you. I only had one such experience when I was trying to merge to the exit of Wilshire (405N) and a BMW X5 just wouldn't let me. I turned on my signal light.... when I speed up, he speed up. When I slow down, he slow down. Finally when I cut it, he gave me a finger.

Why are there so many punks driving BMW?

 

In the GS (I am de-badged) I never get people trying to race me. I drove a new 2k2 ES 300 loaner today, I got picked on by a G35, 2k2 Max and TL-S.

I notice people do not let me in, so I OPEN THE DOOR MYSELF...

i love that slogan. got a 6' poster of it. on the I-5 up in oregon, two cars were being punks. a first was a damned plump chick in a Protege!! a flipping mazda!! cuts me off and zooms off, and i'm like "screw it, let her filter out the cops." still chugging along, i happen to catch her. she sees me and zooms again, just to stay ahead of me as others pass her. i catch again and pass the female and she gets a good look at the blur that is my car.

minutes later as i drive ahead of the mazda and a dodge stratus that i happened to also pass, the dodge catches up and another fat girl gives me the finger after going to the far lane to pass politely. as if i was the only driver passing them!

so the dodge is behind and the mazda behind that, i pull to the middle so they could both see the fingers my girlfriend sends back. creating conflict out of nothing because i don't drive a beater with them...

BLiu, you are one of many -- drivers do that to me frequently, although I am a pretty calm driver. Corvettes since 1986, and recently the GS430. More often than not it's an SUV or a pickup that will "challenge" me. I always let them go on off ahead, knowing they know (after showing out) that there was no contest to begin with. I drive what I drive for my own pleasure, not to prove anything to other drivers and their cars. I believe most GS drivers feel the same. Just ignore them. That will really P*** them off.

 

I completely agree about the younger driver thing... I find more and more soccer mom's getting upset when they see me driving the GS...almost always looking at me like its my dad's or something! I even had a couple neighbors giving me wierd looks when I got it...

 

They like seeing/looking at the big "L" symbol on your grill in the review mirror and day dreaming that one day they will be lucky enough to own one as they accidently cut you off. :eek:

the only cars that dont let me in are faster ones. I always speed up and cut the ******* off if they dont let me in after 5 seconds.

YOu know that is kinda true...those bus drivers get on my @ss all the time....i guess they feel since they drive a city bus and they hit you they dont lose anything, which is true...u should see how these buss drivers act by fordham or down by huntspoint market even at queenz they are crazy......Long Island have very polite bus drivers...they always give u the go...
