Precut window tint, need your opinion
#17
I've done this before.
Materials needed:
spray bottle with soapy water - I fill up the bottle and then add 5-10 drops of dish washing soap in.
flat plastic scraper - size: 3x8 and/or 4x9 - you use this to scrape all the water out between the inside of the tint and the window
heat gun - this is for your back/rear window tint - you need to mold it because of the curvature
Note:
eBay sellers sell a pre-cut that is a perfect fit.
if you need help or advice, private message me.
Good luck.

don't tint the side windows yourself with one type of tint then pay a pro to do the rear window if you want it to match. regardless of % of shade and whether or not you go with the "same" for both, you won't get a match. every brand is different. every brand also ages differently. even made of different materials. some have ceramic in them. some have metal. some can f up your gps nav reception due to the type of reflective elements used to make certain shades.. but you do get what you pay for. you ever seen those cars rolling around with the disgusting faded purple peeling tint? those are the guys that went with the $10 roll from the auto store instead of having a pro job done with high grade materials.

guys! soapy water = very little soap and mild soap not dish washing detergents i use johnson and johnsons no tear! spray bottle should be full and only use a few drips of shampoo ratio should be like 99% water 1% mild soap, and always cut with a razor blade made from stainless steel so it doesn't cut your windows. i've had guys bring me ebay precuts, computerized precuts or whatever, i preffer to use reg paper. the pre cuts come over sized and still need to be trimmed and it's harder to edit an already altered piece of tint then starting fresh.
items needed
#1 = some type of plastic applicator or bondo pad
#2 = spray bottle
#3 = heat gun
#4 = baby shampoo
#5 = bounce paper for rear window
#5 = bountys
#6 = sharp *stainless steel* blade
#7 = also a good drop light to cut your rear tint with
the side windows should be cake, have fun with the rear >=P
ohhh and don't forget #8 STEADY HANDS!

Hi,
I can have the car professionally tinted, but that would cost me 500 euro (approx. 600 US$). They do excellent work though.
So I'm exploring other options... and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Precut window tint kits! Has anyone tried such kits? How is the fit?
I have a friend who does a more than decent job at tinting windows that don't require heat-shrinking (so he could do the sides). And then I can always have the rear window professionally tinted.
Please give your opinion.
Thanks
