here are some pics of my bandpass ported through the rear deck.
its in the trunk so i didnt get any full 360 degree pics of the box or anything, just what i could get from it being inside the trunk.

will get a vid today for u guys =D

i plan to carpet it up soon to cover all the messy mdf up. will sand it down and carpet it up soon. i first wanted to try it out to make sure it "worked" how i wanted it to.

also, for any of you box builders out there that might see this. i want to add some plexi glass now to show off the subs, would it even be possible to add it now. or is it too late? =(

let me know. i have two ten inch RE audio SE's in there, that i would love to show off with some plexi glass.. would also make the trunk look a lot better. so it wont look like i have some random box in the back lol. even with carpet on the box, itl still look way better with plexii . some input on this please!

forgot to mention... its two re audio se's 10". being powered by a sundown audio sae 1200d v2

also heres a pic of the box plans
as you can tell by the measurements, their exactly to fit in the back of the gs through the trunk step thing where the gas tank is.

measures 30 long x 14 high x 20 depth

thanks to mobeous from caraudio.com for the help on box plans.
hit him up at caraudio.com if you need some help with box plans, hes really good and has done tons of designs. he worked with me through the whole box planning and how i wanted it.
originally was going to go with a re audio mx but ended up going with the 2 10" ses because the box plan worked out better

I can see it it's gonna be so cool. I wish I get all that without the extra weight... I know, eventually, I'll want more LOL.

That should look good once it's done, it might be a little difficult to go plexi now but it's possible if you carefully cut the back sheet of MDF off.

A bandpass like that would be be my choice if I end up wanting more output than the sealed box I'm putting in now. Never designed a bandpass, looks like a 4th order to my mostly undeducated eye, curious what the ported chamber is tuned to?

so just take the backsection off and cut some plexi....would look awesome....then put the braces UNDER the box instead of on the back and flush all the rest in....i would show u a pic of mine to show u what i mean but im not post it up until i get my interior back in and im waiting on a part to get back from alpine (we had to send it in) before i post mine up.

BTW plexi is expensive but MAN it looks good

its super hard to take anything off. i used some crazy glue to get it to hold
i already had to cut it open once!! i finished everything, i finished the box, i dropped in the box and i even closed it! let it dry for a week, and when i hooked it up, only one sub was playing! - i accidently wired one sub wrong!!!!

man it was kind of a hassle to get it open.. well not so much, but it sucked that i had to get a saw and just rip the top open to get to the subs.
then when i cut it open it wasnt exactly a perfect straight cut, so i had to glue everything very carefully so that all the pieces would be in line and i wouldnt get any air leaks. so idk if i could take one whole side off. i was thinking of just cutting a big square in the front and then just drilling the plexi glass over the "hole" kind of like patching it up, except with plexi glass lol.
idk if that would work or if that might change tunning a bit.

ooh and i still want to see your set up.. hurry up =D lol

also as for the things to hold up the box.. i just kind of drilled them in quick. i was too excited, i jsut wanted to get it in and hear the thing.

yeah its a 4rth order lol
and yes im thinking VERY hard about whether i should try to cut it out or not, if its not done right, itl ruin the whole box. and if its done right, then il get an awesome looking box (once all sanded and carpeted)

lol if u use mdf theres no way you'll get it light.

i have stock suspension so it lowers my back suspension at least =)

but the box alone weighs quite a bit, a good 60 lbs at least probably. plus an extra 20 pounds per sub. probably at least 100 lbs total

well i specifically designed it to get some good sound and still have plenty of trunk space. i dont like taking up all my trunk, cus sometimes i do need it.

it only goes about 8 past the gas tank its. its 20 in in depth. the length is only the length of the gas tank thing. and height, well that didnt matter too much.

im running two RE audio SE's in there (10") and one Sundown audio amp, SAE1200 version 2.

Should look very nice Brian.

If you want to save weight use birch; saves a fair amount of weight against MDF. My sealed box (about 1.15 cubic feet) weighs about 22 lbs; and I'd guess at least a third of that is the 1" plexiglass on the front.

lol damn how much money is going into all this building and working on ur car, costing you?! lol the sound stuff alone is already a good amount. cant imagine the labor htose guys are charging on top of the equipment youve purchased.

that looks awesome btw. looks like an awesome set up, with a great woofer, and you still have good amount of room back there in the trunk
