Default Hmmm... Strange

I sent this to L-tuned:

"I would like to know what is the wheel weight of the 18" OZ Salina wheels for the GS430. I'm interested in upgrading the stock 16" wheels and the Salina looks sweet."

Response:

Thank you for your interest in L-Tuned. The front 18x8" wheel/tire combo weighs 49# while the rear 18x9.5" wheel/tire weigh 54#. For reference, the factory 17" upgrade wheel/tire weigh 52#, unfortunately we do not have the weight for the factory 16".

Strange, are the optional 17" wheel/tire setup really that heavy at 52lbs?!? I weighed my stock 16" at 46lbs.

Six pounds difference sounds about right. FYI, there is a 2 pounds difference between 235/45-17 and 245/45-17 and they appear almost about the same size.

The 17 rubbers obviously appear larger than 16s so that will take care of a big part of the weight difference and the rest should be the 16 vs 17 rim.
