Hey guys, I've been reading forums about the Platinum series and everyone says "platinum series is only made for yr 2000" Now here is my question...I picked up a Platinum Series GS3 and on my pink slip, it says "2002"...then when I checked the door jam, it says it was made 8/2001...AND then the forum says the only year platinum series is made for is 2000...I bought a product that was meant to fit on a 2002 lexus, but it doesn't fit. I'm really confused about the year on my car ....lol...Can someone explain this to me? lol. Thanks.

I did. It said that its a 2002 Lexus GS3

First off, your car was made in august of 2001, so that automatically makes it a 2002. What product did you buy that didn't fit?
Platinum series was only made in 2000, what makes you think you have a platinum series?

There is no such thing as a 2002 Platinum Series GS. Please don't tell me you bought the car at a markup because the seller said it was a Platinum Series. If that's the case, you were deceived.

I bought a LED Side mirror...and the reason I KNOW I bought a platinum series is because the description on it matched the interior and feature my car has. Also, when I removed the Platinum Series sticker, it had a rectangular dent where the sticker is suppose to be placed (The same dent that TTE lip has their product on where the TTE sticker is suppose to be placed)

Maybe you car was in a previous wreck, and the fenders where replaced? I know there is no platinum series after 2000.
Also, maybe you bought 98-00 side mirrors, which differ from 01-05, that, or the mirrors have terrible fitment

those are what I read up on. Someone prove me wrong. Because I highly disbelieve that my car is a 2002 platinum series. IMPOSSIBLE. I just want to know the year on my car so I can buy the right part for perfect fitment the next time i order something..this is stressing..

I believe platinum came with wood wheel, and perforated leather seats.. Does the vin match the sticker on the drivers side door? If so you have an 02

It might be though, I had a 1999 Model Avalon before my GS, and it was a platinum edition, perforated seats and the badges also. Since it was 1999, it was made in 98...but was still a "Platinum Edition".

Yup everybody is right. First of all your car has to be 2000 model either gs3 or gs4. Second thing is does your car have the platinum logo on the fenders? Also your leather seats have to have hole in them. If you have 2002 gs3 obviously you have to 01+ steering wheel with e shift buttons. If you have wood on the steering wheel and wood ashtray(usually it says sport design on the ashtray) that means you have sport design edition. Lol I know I’m leaving few things out but hopefully this helps.
