Default Acutuator Problems!

New member here. I had posted in the old door acutuator thread about a problem I was having with the windows after doing the door acutuator DIY. I didn't get any responses probobaly because you guys and tired of reading a thread that is so old. While doing the repair the windows and sunroof all started rolling down at once trapping my hand under the window track, just as I was pulling the assembly out. I got my hand out and the only damage was to the solid cable of the acutuator which had a slight bend in it. I straightened it out and it seemed to function ok. After getting everything back together all was working well until I slammed the drivers door and all the windows and skylight rolled down again. I have since noticed that the key will not unlock the drivers door and the windows will sometimes roll down. The repair was to the drivers door and it is a GS300. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone is doing this DIY I would recommend disconnecting the battery even with the risk of loosing some settings. Thanks again for your help!!!

What would cause all of the windows and skylight to roll down at the same time? Is there a button or some other function that could be triggered by closing the drivers door? Any ideas are welcome. Don't know if it matters but it ia a 2003 GS300!! Thanks again.

The only way that the windows roll down is if you press and hold the unlock button or if you put the key in the door and hold it in the unlock position. Seems like either you have a short or you did something wrong that is making the car think that you have pressed the unlock feature in order to roll the windows down.

Thanks, Spyder, that's the information I was looking for. The car is new to me and I didn't know that it had this feature. This leads me to believe that the problem is the solid cable between the outside handle and the handle on the inside door panel, possibly where it attaches to the plastic housing. Thanks again for the response!!!

Good call systemover!!! The rod that runs from acutuator up to the outside door handle and is held on by the red plastic clip had come loose. Thanks for the heads up!!!
