Can't believe I missed this... what paint do you use for the dashboard and other parts? The idea that the paint will rub off got me reconsidering doing this.

Did you remove the original paint first?

If you use the right dye, and not paint, it will not rub off.

Thats correct

I have a friend who is a professional detailer and reconditions leather in ferrari's, Bentleys and lots of other exotic cars.

He supplied me with the leather dye, and has been using it for 20 years and never had a complaint.

Its quality stuff i am using thats cost me £400.00 to do this colour change and nearly 1 weeks labour.

Because the leather was black and i opted to change to a lighter colour i have had to do the following:-

firstly sand the leather down with a leather prep solution instead of water, this removes the silicone and a lot of the dirt that the eye cant see.

then clean the leather with a soft cotton cloth and alcohol cleaner

sponge 3 layers of dye leaving each coat to dry for 30 minutes

10 coats of dye with a spray gun, using a heat gun for 5 minutes between each layer

2 coats of gloss super sealant to hold the colour in, leave for 1 hour before next step

Finally 2 layers of satin finish to give it added protection. You can chose between matt/satin/gloss

This is not an easy procedure so do not think its just 2 layers of paint that will eventually peel off.

I guess you get what you pay for, and the guys that manufacture this dye also supply to over 30 vehicle manufacturers, so i guess it is as good as it gets.

Sorry i do not have many more pictures as the pictures i have attached today are old, i have actually finished and fully installed the interior today.

Will get you some updated pictures tomorrow

just a suggestion, dye the seats a two tone....red and black. Add some black accents in there. Maybe the part where your *** sits? I think a two tone look would be badass.
