Hey guys. Just got my TTE lip in today! I bought one of the last ones in the us for sale Hurry, sewell still haves a couple.... Anyways, I was 'test' fitting my lip today and noticed on my front left there was a pretty noticable gap between the lip and bumper. This is the same side that is warped due to previous owners damage(piece of tire rubber got flung up from car in front and impacted front left;bumper/fender/light). Also the bottom is pretty bad from bottoming out so many times, Once again NOT me. Previous owner. My question is, will the epoxy and screws be able to get me flush enough with my bumper since the dry mock plus tape left a poor fitment, or should i pay the extra dough and get it molded in? Also how much did you guys pay for your lip to get molded. Thanks for the help again guys! I really appreciate it Also should i just get the lip painted then install it. Or install the lip myself then take it to a body shop to see what they can do with it and paint it with the lip on the bumper? Thanks
Don't mean to thread jack. I just recieved mine in today too i did the same and have a gap on the driver side! but once my new bumper comes in I'm getting the lip molded I was quoted 250 for prep and paint.
I thought your lip would be brand new, then...not all beat up as you claimed.
About the signature, I had someone in the Photoshop section make it for me.

Sorry guys. I guess i didnt clearify enough. The lip is NEW, but i was describing the poor condition of the bottom of my bumper which is why my lip wasnt fitting well at the test fit, and which is why i was thinking about molding.
i would just mold. a good molding plus clear corner delete and a whole front bumper repaint will range normally between 3-5 bills. I think its worth it.

Agreed, get the bumper fixed and repainted while you're doing the lip, and since you're doing that you might as well get it molded. I got my sidemarkers deleted when I had my bumper repaired and painted; inspired by jedidiah's (spelling?) molded TTE lip and shaved sidemarkers. I think it looks cleaner without them.
The only reason I can see not to mold it is if you're concerned about hitting debris or something with the lip. If it's not molded the lip could be repaired and repainted itself in that situation; if it's molded more than likely the whole thing would need to be redone depending on the exact damage.

I am sorry to be off topic but AutoBot if you plan to mold your TTE lip anyway, why did you buy a new bumpber for a gap issue? I mean when the shop mold the lip togeather it should fix your problem. Just curious
Im getting it painted for $125. Then order a DR. Colorchip kit to try and cover up the scratches around the bumper until i get my car repainted. You guys have any tips for the install? Im going to take the bumper off the car and use the epoxy and screw method. 5 screws + epoxy should be enough?
