Quote: Thought I would bring this up since it is an older thread but has some relavent info .
Not sure if you know but its worth a try since I can;t find a thread with the info. with my 03 430 It has an ML non nav. If I bought the nav head I could then buy an antenna and ecu and it would work fine? Was All nav automatically ML as well?
thanks man,
HMMMMM....i dunno man thats a thought but im not sure....would depend if they prewired the car for nav or not...so really depends on the harness

Quote: Ok so it needs a head to ecu harness , anything else you can think of ?
screen, nav ecu but the harness is utterly important

thanks man, not half as nice as your car but still

Thanks for the info .
From the looks of it my harness is way less cluttered.
I will have to see if an old friend will make the harness for me to add as I know he used to do this stuff all the time .

no problem but why you wanting to add OEM nav instead of some aftermarket nav? it would be cheaper to do that way....

Didn't see this post before...how is it you didn't know you couldn't remove the OEM? Or was there a specific feature you didn't know you could retain with an aftermarket unit? I would think having all the climate controls and maintenance info go through it would be my biggest concern...

Doubtful unless you did an upgrade to a gen 4 system like he did.

Good work but this sheet looks like a lot of effort bro, why didnt you just go with an aftermarket double din unit?

dunno i just didnt, i didnt know until ck6speed mentioned it halfway through my build. i knew the 98-00 guys could but when i asked bout the 2001+ NOONE had ever done it so noone knew for sure. then chris comes by and goes "OH i did that years ago" and i went as that woulda saved me so much $

sheet? read my answer to mack above.

i gladly would have but NOONE knew for 100% the 2001+ models could have but now its to late as i have already been way past this....

Excellent information. I have my eye on a few used Prius nav ECUs just so I can swap it and use the Coastal Tech "LockPick" device to always enable the override mode.
