If they make that much of a difference I'm thinking that I am really going to have to get me a pair, I think I got stuck once in about as much snow as your driving around in...

They make insane difference. My driveway is iced over and I have no problems backing into it. Like I said, its comparable to AWD cute-utes with all season tires.

These long cars get pretty good angle. Subdivision that never got built, so you can go for hours here on twisty roads.

Fun times.

I get zero traction in the snow. Took me over an hour to dig my car out. I can't get winter tires either. How do they drive on dry pavement? Are they noisy as a teenage couple?

I'm literally stranded when snow comes down.

Well, they are noisier than all season tires, but not too bad.

Yeah, if there is anything on the pavement here, I don't bother. I did venture out for the Super Bowl, and with 1/4-1/2" of hard packed snow/ice on most of the roads I had a real interesting drive home.

I did however get to go out with my girlfriend in her parents '98 Ford Explorer. And with a foot of snow, man was that a blast.

i've never driven my ls in the winter without snow tires.. so i have nothing to compare it to, all i know is that they give me peace of mind.. the traction is incredible, however they're pretty bad on warmer (fall) days.. i remember i put them on a bit too early this past fall and they weren't good at stopping, but that would be my fault

Sorry to wake an old thread but I need a winter setup for my 2GS4.

I have a chance to buy some 245/40/18 for pretty cheap $$$

Do you guys think that they are too big?

I'm taking ALL recommendations. Thanks guys!

I'll try to post a pic.
