Actually, it's not a "bullspit" fix as you claim it is 
It has worked previously for me, you can't tell that it's on there, so i'm not sure how you're calling it "ghetto". It's a simple alternative solution to a problem. Some people may not feel comfortable splicing wires or spending $50 for an OEM battery terminal from Lexus. Do you have any other alternative solutions to this problem? If so, you should post it here.

Secondly, OEM positive terminals are $40 for the part itself, $25 for the negative, not including labor for people who don't feel comfortable splicing wires, etc.
And again and lastly, if you can provide alternatives for members for this problem, then you should do so and post here. If not, I highly suggest you not mock answers to problems.

I never said it was the proper way to repair a battery terminal, but a suggestion as to how fix the problem. Take it for what it's worth, no need to complain about it. I posted it as a solution to this problem, so people can either A) use the solution, or B) fix via an alternative route. If one likes it fine, if not, whatever. Quite arguing about it. Case closed.

I agree, that's pretty ghetto. Buy a new terminal end from a parts store and bolt your wire to the new one. You don't need to cut anything. I got this from the AutoZone web site:

I was looking in the battery area of the vehicle and noticed that the POSITIVE cable end clamp had become brittle. I went to AutoZone and picked up this exact part. I replaced the part only to find that my vehicle could not start. I put the corroded one back on because thats the only way it would start. The oem one looked to be more of a copper color unlike the shiny metal one from AutoZone. Did I do something wrong? was it just not tight enough?
Update 01/17/2013: Done and working fine. I have way better contact with this new adapter.

Interested because trying to decide what to do in a pinch, don't want to waste time. Have an AutoZone nearby.
