Why would you create an account, and have your first post be entirely irrelevant to the topic in this thread. AND this thread is nearly a year old.

My car used to shut off like this. I found out that there was corrosion on my battery terminals. After I got rid of the corrosion and put the little red anti corrosion felt pieces on I haven't experienced the problem.

im having this same problem. recently my tail lights had a short and i had a mechanic fix it a couple days ago. all day today my radio was randomly turning off and later on in the day the whole car just shut off while driving, no power to gauges windows or anything. few min later the car got power, i turned the car on with no problem, then couple minutes later before i even started driving it happened again. i left and came back about an hour later to tow the car, and the car turned on with no problem and i drove home.

anybody have any ideas what this might be? i cant seem to figure this out and id appreciate any input before i just bring it to a mechanic to find and fix the problem and get charged for a couple hundred bucks when id rather fix it myself

i had a friend who had some sorta of the same problem. Everytime he drove his car pressing the brake or hitting a bump his car would flicker inside. Like the navi dash lights and the car would shut down sometimes.

That always baffled the hell out of me. has anyone figured out this problem. People can say it was a grounding issue to the main power source of the car, BAttery? ECU? i dont know. any new info on this?

Have you taken the alternator out to see if fluid has leaked onto it? Generally if the power steering is leaking onto the alternator, it won't be substantial enough to create a puddle on the ground. Would only be enough to slowly kill off the alternator.
