Exclamation transmission problem. help.

hey guys im new here. this is my car

just got it a few weeks ago for $5000 with 120,000 miles its a 98 gs400..
yeah good deal but i knew it was to good to be true.

it only took less then 15 seconds of hard driving to make the check engine light to come on.. i got it checked by autozone and my uncle who is a mechanic. and both came up with a soleniod problem. and whats happening is that its shaifting hard. im getting so confused and its just making it hard to sleep everynight. im being told by my uncle i might need a new trasmission. i was told by auto zone i need to get a tss (turbine speed sensor) and can only be bought at a dealership.. witch is a place that tries taking to much money from. also people and more people tell me my transmission fluid needs to be changed and thats what's making the check engine light come on is cause there is a bunch of gunk in there that needs to be flushed.. and im HOPEING that.. will fix this problem.. my uncle also said it might fix the problem but sometimes when it hasn't been flushed for a while it can't be fixed and the car doesnt shift or start.. and thats when a whole new transmission needs to be bought then i did some searching on the internet and some people got there tss done and bought for around $200 honeslty i only have $700 to spend on this car at the moment as i am looking for a job. this is my second car im 16 and this lexus is a dream for me. fast, luxurious, and RELIABLE. i know im only having this problem cause the last owner obviously didnt take care of it. but i couldn't be happier with it, it would just be a nightmare not being able to drive it.

i know there are alot of helpfull people on this forums so feel free to tell me what you think about whats going on and what might happen. or if you'v had a problem similar to this.this is killing me but ill gunna try to stay positive, so thanks guys
