Some police can be really unfair...but overall they're good people(the ones around here anyway)

A few days ago, my sis was speeding down parker(going 50 on 40mph road), the officer just gave her a warning since she's a new driver (btw she drives a 2001 I30t)

how come I never got a warning before? Is it because I was driving 120mph at 65mph zone?

Most cops in the Bay Area are power trippers. They get a joy out of being the bad-*** macho authority figure and talk to you like a damn three year old patronizing you, looking at you in a condescending manner, and always issuing tickets not warning to young people. I have two tickets that are complete bullsh!t that raised my insurance sooo ridiculously high. Why? Because super cops in Dublin like pulling people over to prove their self-worth. I used to respect cops for "protecting and serving" the community, until I got my license and had to deal with their crap. Now I know that "protection and service" are just some specious motto they adapted to justify asinine traffic citations. This mainly applies to the locals, but the CHP are dicks as well. Fast drivers aren't dangerous, stupid drivers are dangerous. Apparently they don't realize this because I got a $150 ticket for driving 4 mph over the posted speed limit.

Rico, maybe cops are different in Fort Worth, or maybe you're just biased because your family members are cops and you've probably never dealt with a ticket yourself. I know about the code of the shield, or whatever it's called. Cops, their family members, and ER surgeons NEVER get tickets.

i think i must go with the majority here, but i can sympathize with Rico. Even if you don't like like the police it is a courtesy not to use derogatory names.

And there are a couple of nice officers out there i have a few which are my friends but i have noticed that the only ones that give you warnings are the ones new to the force. but at the same time they are the ones that pick on you for every little thing because they just read the rule book! As time goes on they become these power seeking false sense of authority having individuals that **** most of us off. Debating a citation is futile cuz they feel they can do no wrong even when at times they are wrong.

I don't think it is fair for you to call them pigs if they gave you a warning , if they gave you a warning it is against the law they fact that they singled you out is another issue, (hating) but better for you to know the law with a warning than with a ticket by another officer. When i was in high school and early on in college i was followed , stopped, questioned , searched , all the time for no reason i don't drink or sell or use drugs so they never found anything or even game me a ticket cuz i did no wrong and since i was a law student i would tell them when they were executing a illegal search and thy eventually would back off.

99% of cops are PIGS! Yes I said it! I got pulled over for stupid stuff like my exhaust. he wanted to know where my emmisions test/registration was....when I told I DONT live in Harris County...he tried to be a smart *** about it and siad he would let me off with a warning...I lied and told him i was an Attorney...then He took the warning away and let me go. It's almost a given fact 99% of the PIGS out there are the dumb---s that couldn't do anything else right. Then they get this attitude problem when They have a badge. But the worst thing I ever said to a cop was when he wrote me a ticket for 4 miles over the speel limit! 69 in a 65!!! I told him after he said "have a nice day", "I can't say the same. and I hope you die in the line of duty soon, it cops like you that improve the image." and i closed my windows and took off.

now that was funny... no holding back huh?

I remember when a state trooper gave me a ticket one day and told me it was for my own good to "teach me a lesson"the only lesson i learned is if i have a big enough lead and i am very familiar with the area its a game of "catch me if you can" if i am already doing 100 or so and he has to turn around or catch me from a standstill... GOOD LUCK..IT's TRIED AND PROVEN...although nowadays i have the inside connection when they or if they stop me i just smile and once i walked in the store and got a popscicleafter cop said i ran the red light when i didnt.. i was in the middle of the intersection and it turned caution and anyway i saw him over there i wouldnt run a light when i see the police...he wouldnt listen but he didnt understand me leaving him to get a popscicle..cuz i went to my friend and had that sh@% taken completely off no money no record... his dumb a@@ still thinks he got me ..

Sorry off topic....speaking of PIGS.......I have a court date comming up...for a 86 in a 65....He made sure it was one mile over the limit for that hefty ticket. I allready delayed it once. Anyone have a lawyer or actually fought a ticket and won/loss?

Default they are human too!

There are some bad and there are a lot of good, it's all come down to who are you going to call when you get robed?

my fiance got an ticket yesterday because some undercover cop cut her off, she almost got in an acident. And he told her he did that to catch road rage people like her.

BTW, is there a way to report this kind of problem?

Bryan,

First get his badge number off the ticket and then go straight to his commanding officer and report it to him. If the guy is a dick also, go to to his CO, and keep climbing till you reach Internal Affairs. Cops aren't allowed to make aggressive manuevers like that, and your fiance shouldn't get docked for, it the cop should.

enginyr,

30mph over the posted speed limit is considered wreckless driving. If you have to go to court to receive your penalty, they are probably going to confescate your driver's license and suspend it for 30 days. Then depending on the number of points on your record, they will forward the court docket to the DMV Safety Board and try to get it suspended a minimum of six months. If you want to appeal the ticket, then you will fill out some forms for a hearing. The officer WILL show for the hearing because he gets paid overtime for it. It's basically your word against his so bring a GOOD lawyer. You have a good case if you play your cards right.
