In October 2012, I drove the Tail of the Dragon, US 129 in Tennessee and North Carolina. My car had picked up a few bugs and some road dirt on the 1200 mile drive to get there!
The road is said to have 318 curves in 11 miles through the mountains. It was a great drive and awesome scenery with fall colors in full force.
Along the route, professional photographers set up and photograph nearly each and every vehicle which drives by. They attempt to get front, side and rear shots of each vehicle.
Cannot wait to go back to the mountains and do it all over again.
