Default 2nd Gen GS Tanabe springs on an SC430???

So, can someone confirm?

I can get new Tanabe lowering springs for a '98-'05 GS 300/400/430. Will it fit the SC430, as both models share the same chassis?

Some say I can, but part of me is still doubtful.

That is interesting. Even if they fit, I would not do it. The GS springs were engineered for the GS. The GS weights quite a bit more I would imagine and it may not handle as well as springs designed for the SC430. I don't think that the SC430 and GS series share the same suspension. I have read that the IS300 and the GS share many of the same parts, including suspension.

Are there companies that make SC430 springs?
Doing a quick search on ebay reveals that Tanabe and many other brands make springs for the SC430. There is a set of NF210's for the SC430.

I am not sure on this, but what Pingue said is correct, the spring are designed for weight, but I can't see a problem if the SC is lighter than the GS. This would just mean that the springs are stronger??

the 2sc is much heavier than the 2gs. it will definitely work, and actually gives you an even lower drop.

make sure you get stiffer shocks as well to better the dampening.

In other words, springs alone is not optimal, especially since the SC is (400 lbs) heavier.

So, I guess I have to go with coilovers instead for a "balanced" set-up? Should I skip on the deal if it's lowering springs only?
