Default AC question

Ok, so when I was in the process of my turbo install I took off my condenser...and let all of the freon out of my ac system. The condenser was unhooked for about a week in the garage, and now everything is hooked back up...my question is do you think I could get away with using a recharge kit thing from a auto parts store just to get me through the summer? I dont want to take it to a shop right now...mainly b/c I dont trust anyone else with my car atm lol and as soon as I start back school in September, I will be able to use the professional equipment at the shop to do it right. But IT IS HOT!! so thats why i kinda need an opinion on what to do.
Thanks

Preston, recharge kits typically don't have enough freon in them to completely charge a empty system and im assuming you just vented this out into the atmosphere instead of reclaiming it and reusing it like you should have?

oh i forgot to mention preston....venting ac into the atmosphere is very illegal and VERY bad for the environment...

next time just reclaim it and reuse it

better suck it down now so you don't get a bunch of condensation and crud in there.
