Default Stock HID? Failure

I turned on my headlights today and one of the bulbs just flickered and shut off, do the hid bulbs just burn out like that? I really do not know too much about HID's, just looking for some advice. Is it an easy fix or should I just take is somewhere?

Yea, you can order replacements via ebay. I did my last summer. You'll want to replace both of them as the color will be off. If you do some searching, you'll find some DIY's for it. The bulbs run about $100 a set, and the install will take you about an hour if you've never done it before.

thanks for the info guys, I will search for the DIY.. I am not sure if I am using the right terminology but I can see the bulb flickering. When it goes out if I turn my headlights off then back on the bulb is working again, but instantly starts flickering again.

Like was said above, try switching the bulbs and see if the problem switches sides before you order anything. The bulbs will be the easiest thing to check, if the flickering switches sides when you switch them it's the bulb, otherwise it could very well be the ballast.
