Thumbs down odd problem....anyone seen this? 99' GS400

So....kinda probing around to see if anyoe else has had the same problem. With my traction control off when I'm wide open throttle the engine will just shut down and then come back a couple seconds later...sometimes it will do it again right away if I hit it wfo open again. Sometimes it's in a straight line, sometimes after turning....I don't know! it pisses me off when you think you're going to unleash all 300 HP and then it falls on it's face.

I work at a dealersip and plugged our non Lexus scanner into it and there are absolutely no codes but I am going to go down to Lexus and talk to my parts guy and some of the techs to try and get some more info. It is lowered on Tom's Racing Advox and has a aftermarket air intake setup on it as well as no mufflers(sounds great).....just wanted to list some mods in case that might help.

Could be as simple as a plugged fuel filter. Sounds like starving for fuel.

its either losing fuel, or getting too much air without a tune that it's leaning out and going into safe mode. Could also be a vehicle speed sensor in the trans, happened to my dad's clk55, but that would throw a code.

is this happening right when you jump on it? the tb opening suddenly and being hit with too much air would definitely cause this condition.

You'd be getting a code for misfiring or lean banks if it's not enough fuel...

Try it in 'manual' mode, see if it still does it. Maybe your VSC is not disengaging?

Well, it does it in manual mode and auto and it acts completely different from the VSC kicking in. The VSC is more gradual while this shuts the car down....doesn't feell like a loss of fuel as stated above that would throw a code for sure. I was thinking maybe a bad TPS or the suggested speed sensor is a good thought also. I was just hoping maybe someone had run into this before. I think I'll look into a fuel filter since it should use one I suppose. Thanks for the input.
