Default Please help!!!

I turned the key to start-up my GS400 and heard a loud sound as if I had continued to hold the key in the start position. I turned the key to start the car a few more times and the same thing; once again and the sound was gone. Today I started the car and the sound is back. Could the starter be going bad or is it something else?

thanks,
Joseph

does it sound like something snap... then consider the starter but then again if it starts... could be something else.. if it doesnt try hittin the starter with a metal stick or something to activate the driver in the starter... just an idea

It's the starter. Not really a DIY job, more of a take to a mechanic and have him replace it. Unless you can do it your self.

I think that there is a DIY, but it looks rather difficult especially on the 400. Good luck
