The pole is or was cemented into the ground, it snapped the cement as well!!

Really lucky that it didnt hit the car at all. Either that or the force or the shine on the paint job created an invisible shell that said,"Pole be gone!!" LOL!! Glad to see that Karma was on your side. What part of NY you from. Drop down into the NELOC section and intro yourself.
