Both of them could be right! Has anyone ever missed a shift driving a high powered manual car? If you have, then you KNOW that it is entirely possible to lose. Again, GS is right in that the SS will smoke the GS, but if you factor in: 1) Off the line wheelspin for the SS 2) THe SS missing a shift and htting the rev limiter then the GS WILL BEAT A SS having those happen. IMHO.

LexCiting , i do agree there, but what kind of a win is that, who cares if you beat a car that something went wrong in....

Default No hurt feelings

I acknowledge the fact that SS is a bit faster than SS. All I was saying is that I beat a chump who thought he could win against me and it felt good beating him. I wasn't trying to brag that my GS is faster than a SS. It was a list of cars I beat for people to enjoy. Nothing more and nothing less. I felt good that he tried to race me and he lost because he sucked or whatever.....I am sure if I was in his SS and he was driving my GS he would be dusted by the SS.

Anyways I posted the message to find out about the TRD Shcocks and springs, so let me know if someone has installed that in their car and where can i get them for a good price.

Thanks
Buh Bye

lol hey.... SS no big deal

ive beaten a Viper off the line... it was ablue with white stripes... when my GS300 was stock with some heavy as 20inch wheels.

we took off... there was a stop sign.. he chickend out and stopped and i broke it (accidently, i was looking over at him passing by me very very veryyyy fast then he slammed on brakes... guess he saw the stop sign and i didnt so i just flew past it) but yeah technicilly i beat em! but i know on a real race with no distractions he would of choked me to dead (killed me)

Yesterday i was in my friends celica and we talked him into racing a SVT Mustang... lol we got wooped... first wear we gas half a car length... he threw it in 2nd.... and bye bye mustang... we were 3 cars behind.... it was kinda cool cuz we got to see him waste his gas on a celica... that SVT was fast.......

BADGS400

I agree, but a win is a win. Personally, I would take greater satisfaction in beating a driver who is in a faster car, but can't drive it, then beating someone in a car that I KNOW I should beat. But still a fact is a fact. The SS IS a faster car than the GS, but the "driver factor" has caused many an upset!

you guys crack me up!

So your saying if you race a tricked out TT Supra or a Supercharged WS6/SS and beat them b/c he miss shifted that you would call that a win. well whatever makes ya feel better I guess, I just don't see the point when you know the car can whoop your ***, just don't race if you know your gonna lose. Me personally I try to only race at the track but if some Lexus pulled up to me and asked me to run em' I don't think I would waste my gas unless it was completely tricked out.

I guess do whatever makes ya feel better.

P.S.- Just b/c someone miss shifts in there car doesn't mean that they can't drive it unless it happens over and over. The best of the best miss shift every once and a while it's part of racing.

Camaro VS. GS = WHO CARES?!

If someone misses a shift on the track...HE STILL LOSES! The track officials don't say, "Well, hold on...he screwed up, lets try it again." If AZAZEL got someone, he got him. Everything else is an excuse!

In a perfect world I'm positive that the Camaro would win out, but there is also a human element in racing...give the guy a break!

For a 4-door to stay in reach of a 320 hp musclecar is respectable alone, if not embarrassing for SS and WS6 owners.

My point EXACTLY! If you don't know how to drive your car, then YOU lost the race, the car didn't lose!

WS6 Guy,

You are telling me that if you have a suped up Supra, and I have a Yugo, and we are racing at the drag strip for $10000, and for some reason you screw up, missing your gears, hitting the rev limiter, etc., and for that reason I cross the finish line before you. You should be the winner of the $10000 because your car is really faster???? LOL LOL

And like Rico said you STILL LOSE! I would definitely feel good about getting that win in particular. If someone pulls up next to your revving, maybe they have something under the hood, maybe they don't. It is on you if it is worth finding out. Thats the RUSH of racing. Its the same when we race motorcycles here in MD. I know guys that have 1300cc motorcycles that routinely get beat by guys on 600cc motorcycles. Why? Because they can't RIDE! On paper, the 1300cc should crush the 600cc bike. But just because you read in a magazine that a machine can do this or that, doesn't mean YOU can make it do it.

if in nascar they didn't award 1st place to the person who crossed the finish line first and just awarded the prize to the person with the "technically fastest" car then their is no reason to race at all.

so if you go by the logic of
if SS is faster than GS then
SS wins

// then that means everyone who races their cars are just wasting their time.

// but we race according to the logic of

if you beat him then
you win
