Default tail light prob please..only smart ppl..lol

ok, so about 2 years ago i had my car painted and the stock spoiler put on ...the guy that painted it wired my spoiler light into my taillights..and somehow that ended up blowing my lamp light circuit board (and costing me $600 to get it fixed...) anyways...im getting some new tails soon..and would like to wire the spoiler light in..any recommendations on how to do this? (or why that would have made it blow in the first place?)
Thanks

why not condense a few questions into a single thread? Just an idea.

as far as wiring in the spoiler, if he wired it to the lower filament, which comes on when the headlights are on etc., he probably overloaded the fuse. If i were you, i'd either wire it to the interior 3rd brake light's power lead (splice if you plan on removing the inside 3rd brake light)

I have no idea what would cause it to blow, I know many people who connect it just like that with absolutely no issues, myself included, but in order to make sure that it doesn't happen again you can utilize a relay. If you utilize a relay you would connect the the positive input of ur taillight to pole 85 and ground pole 86. Put 12+ to pole 30 and and connect the positive of the spoiler to pole 87 and than ground the black wire from the spoiler light. This will make sure that u dont fry anything.

There should be a white two pin connector taped to a wire harness under the carpeting on the deck lid near the driver side. This is the connector for the factory spoiler. Simply tap into this. I actually cut off the connector and soldered my wires to this. Works perfect!
