no drilling on the front portion of the bumper, but you may need to drill somewhere else that may not be obvious

I initially had bent my plate and placed it in the middle, but the officer told me that it was illegal. I thought the law (in Hawaii) states that the
1. license plate must be afixed to the bumper
2. must be in plane view
3. not be obstructed.

The cop was not cool at all, so I didn't wanna push the matter. I just said "OH, I didn't know that". BTW, he also asked me "Did you lower your car?" I told him no "I" (the emphasis on I) didn't lower my car. He gave me some more BS and then asked "Is the car lowered" Then I told him "yeah" I wasn't lying "I" did not lower the car, someone else did. Kinda made him think a little. I guess it's all semantics, but it made me laugh inside knowing that I could give him some s*** and still tell him the truth.

well hope this helps a little and maybe if you get pulled over and he gives you attitude, you could throw some back without getting into too much hot water

It looks like cops have started cracking down on the front plate thing. I just got my plates last week, drilled the holes and put them on. I was seriously considering removing it and having having the holes filled to get that clean look back...but I guess I better leave them on.

CSHFLW: Is there a fine you have to pay for the ticket?

that looks nice Ricky.

japanese style like Sasha mentioned. Is that thing temporary?

I have an idea, drill holes on the lower slits of the bumper, where it's not noticeable. Then just screw in the plate, and when I get it signed off i'll remove it! voila~!

how's that idea? they didn't say how LOW it can't be right?

My fiancee talked the court lady out of the ticket for me, so all I had to pay was a $10 court cost, which is still BULL****, court costs....dumbest thing I have ever heard

Or maybe someone knows already??? I was also told that to many infractions of the same violation i.e. "window tint" can result in having a point added to your record.
thanks for the info, i've had ~3 tickets for plates, and probably same number for window tinting, each time it costed me time and $$$ to "fix" it. It's BS in my mind, even though all my friends are telling me to "learn" the lesson and "fix" the problem. But, I don't believe I need to "fix" any problem, I don't crank the music, slam the car, extend the axle, and have gigantic airplane spoiler to draw attention. I guess I am just venting, no point!

But, how about a hookup with your girlfriend's dad for Globe and fellow CL peeps?
