Thanks for any input,

ty. although this actually wasnt that hard. the pics should help people be more comfortable with it! yes, probably. UNFORTUNATELY the drivers servo that controls the drivers heat/air is a PITA to get to, it according to the repair manual it reuquires removing the dash, steering wheel etc (although i think you can get by with just pulling the dash out some....to gain access to it)

OUCH! Thanks for the reply sakataj. I'm not looking forward to this, I've never pulled a complete dash before and I'm sure if I get it back together the darn thing will have lots of creaks and rattles.....

I have a question.....How long did it take to do the entire
process?
and the expected cost from a dealership if I may ask.

well it really wasnt long....depending on how mechanical u r and if you understand everything when u start working on it....i still havent put my new, new ones in i swear to god this weekend i will. i been concentrating on my nav problems (nav problems https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...direction.html
) and putting this one off...

i dunno i think dealer charges like 200 a servo and 3-4 hours labor so assume 100 a hour....bout 600-800 i guess would be a resonable idea. MAYBE 500-700 but i doubt it. dunno bout u but y would i wanna pay that when parts only cost me like 300 for the parts?

Default Guys im stuck. Really need some help here

ok guys for the most part this should fix all your problems but i have run into a strange one again....
ok so i ordered some "used" servos awhile ago from a member, sent them back after i got them as they still wouldnt engage the foot mode....so i installed the new ones straight from the bag i got from sewell lexus. GUESS WHAT? THEY WONT ENGAGE INTO FOOT MODE EITHER...when i put it in feet/face mode it turns on face + defrost, when i put it on feet mode it goes just to defrost BUT if i drive around for 10-20 min SOMETIMES it will finally kick into the foot mode. i have watched all the servos (yes EVEN the drivers side, although i didn't pull the dash i just removed that black plastic foot piece and watched it engage) so i know they ALL are working but i still cannot get this to go into feet mode.....

i did run a diagnostic and am showing NO codes....put it in test mode on mode 6 it runs partly on feet but mode 7 it will ONLY run top defrost and#7 is a feet test mode. i even opened the ones i took off the car (yes nigel i'll get you a pic and they are all good....NO broken teeth on the gears, still have plenty of grease)

anyone have ne1 ideas? my mechanic said these units need to be calibrated but i have NEVER heard of these having to be calibrated, so before i take it to the stealership (where they are gonna tell me i need to replace my mode servo) can someone help me out here? ne ideas or suggestions?

UPDATE: FOR ANYONE HAVING THESE ISSUES, SKIP TO POST 141 FOR SOME CLARITY ABOUT WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT

Did you get the parts for your sunroof?

they do need to be calibrated. i dont' know if this will work with a nav system, but this is how you calibrate on a non-nav.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ides-3.html#35

you can thank me later.

or i can thank you now. THANK YOU.
my mechanic mentioned but i said i didn't think so cause in all the posts i have read, i have never heard ne1 mention the word recalibrate or something like that when they were talking about the servos. i wonder if this was my inital problem and i bought servos for nothing......or nothing more than to make a DIY for others

i will try it tomorrow when i get a min! thanks again at least it was some info even if it doesn't fix it...lets just hope it does

now if only i can get someone to chime in on my nav i might start having a decent week/month/year

we also might be looking into the possibility of a it being a heater/ac control head unit! between my nav computer and IF its that part im looking at atleast 1.5-2k OUCH
