expensive paint job...., :(
replace windshield
replace some trim pieces
repaint hood, bumper, both passenger doors, rear quarter panel,
other misc parts for removal/reinstall of parts during paint process,
whole thing comes out to ~$4k, I believe the windshielf replacement itself is ~1k, that leaves about 3k for the paint job,
does that sound right? btw, this is going through my insurance, so i am wondering if the price tends to be abit higher?
its a lexus.... it costs that much .. a guy hit my car from the front.. needed new fenders new head headlights and re-alighn the frame etc... total cost .... over 21grand to fix...
some BS i have to go threw...
My dealer estimated $700 if he just has to pull the dent and repaint the door - $1700 if he has top spray the the other door and the front quater-panel to "blend" the paint.
He says the painting is a three-step process, which accounts for most of the cost. I am relentless about avoiding door-dings, so now that I know how much it costs to repray the door I am even more vigilant.
Good Luck!

it's the:
1. drive around the entire parking lot 3 times, and make sure you get the best spot.
2. walk around the whole car everytime I park in public, just a quick visual inspection, especially if there are other cars next to me.
3. always look for parking spot on at the end of the isle, so only one side is 'exposed' at all times..,
4. wash the car once a week, and smile at your own reflection when you wipe down...,
5. anyone wants to continue.., ?
I think i am putting way too much effort into protecting and maintaining this car, then to just enjoy the drive!

the rest of the car was immaculate
it had 35k and the interior was spotless
the dealer told me he would get the dent fixed at a place where mercedes sends ther cars to get body work done
they did a very good job and i bought the car
a month later i put my car in one of those garages in manhattan and i did a walk around after i picked it up but it was dark
the next morning i realized that they scratched my rear bumper
it wasnt bad but it bothered me
so i tok it to the same guy and had him paint the whole rear bumper plus the top of the from up to the chrome strip (to get the bug hits out)
the whole job was $250
the point of the story is that if u go to the dealer they will charge u an arm and a leg
but if u go to the guy that the dealer goes to u then u will get a good price
