Default Where to mount load equalizer/resistor when installing LED tails?

Well, some LED tails come with load equalizer / resistors dangling in back of the assembly. This is to avoid the Lamp Out light from showing up on the console.

Most sites say these load equalizers / resistors will generate alot of heat, and thus they do not recommend it to be mounted on plastic or painted surfaces.

If that is the case, where is the best place to mount them?
