Default Headlight Levels

Hi there, I have a 2002 GS 300 with stock halogen headlights.

I bought some CCFL Halo headlights and got them today

I noticed the halo headlights don't have the levels on them that mine do. To be honest, I didn't even know my GS 300 had them until I took out the headlights b/c I know the stock non-HID do not auto level and I've never adjusted them.

My original headlights have 2 levels that are your typical looking levels with yellow fluid and bubble in it. It's in a clear plastic housing and is fixed to the headlight.

There's also a smaller level/adjuster that is like a white, "****" located at the bottom inside part of the headlight. It's like a dial and has Left/Right on it.

It looks like you can take off the levels and put them on the new headlights,
(it has the same plastic housing, but nothing in the housing)

I removed the plastic cover (4 philips screws) that encased the two levels, but wasn't sure how to get the levels out so I just closed it back up.

Are these necessary to have on the aftermarket headlights? If so, how are they adjusted? (I never adjusted my old ones in 7 years and haven't had any problems).

Thanks for your help!

P.S. Unfortunately one of the 4 halos is really dim and doesn't want to seem to light up. I guess I'll have to return it for an exchange. I presume this is and indication the halo is bad and will eventually burn out and so I'd rather get it replaced now.

First question, is it the inner halo on the passenger side? Second, no it is not nessicary to have the leveler inside the housing. There should be an adjustment **** on the back of the lights. (at least my aftermarkets do) Let me know if you have any more questions... But let me know if it is the inner halo on passenger side.

The dim halo that is not working well is the inner one on the drivers side. (why do you ask)?

I didn't see any adjustments on the aftermarket lights, but I'll check again.

Also, I thought the aftermarket headlights use the same bulbs (9006, 9005) for the high/low beam, but realize they do not--it is some small bulb that is just kind of wired in. Does anyone know how to replace this if/when it burns out?

Thanks.
