I was recently having my headlight housing replaced ($325 for the larger ones, $280 for the smaller ones...or so they thought at the dealership) due to the yellowing in them. Veritek and Mike saw them at the SELOC meet. Anyway, they called me and said that the car was ready so I go up to look at them and...wham, they're chrome.

They put in the standard GS headlights, not the smoked Sport Design ones that my car is supposed to have so they are currently in the process of pulling them out and putting in the new ones. Because the Sport Designs were low volume and low production, they only sell them as the assembly which is HIDs, computers, lenses, housing, etc. They are $1,195 per SIDE since you have to buy the entire thing.

This group buy idea sounds cool. I obviously am getting new headlights, but if I wasnt I would be down.
Damn, what a story!

I'm in, I am tired of polishing my headlights every month. Plus, when I turn on my lights at night, you can see all the cracks and flaws.

How soon can we get em?

Btw, can you get the taillight covers for 01-05' 2GS's(covers only, not whole assy.)? I am interested in a clear bottom strip, instead of the amber turn signals.

List updated!

Fog's will be made if the headlights are made but will probably not be available right away. If you order headlights however you'll get a discount on the fogs when they are available. The Sherlock Society started tooling on the molds for the SC headlights since we got over 40 people interested in them. After those molds are made the 1GS and 2GS molds are being produced. If we get a little more interest in these then Mid November they should be available.

The lenses for $120 isn't a bad deal . Also I'd suggest you guys make a clear foglight lens without the ripples. That's what I'm really interested in. It will look a lot cooler. Also, for the headlights if possible maybe make them without the ripples in the turn signal area. Just some suggestions from a seasoned retrofitter

Also, I believe the headlight lenses on the stock GS housing is made from 2.5mm polycarbonate with UV hardcoat. It has very high impact resistance and the UV hardcoat lifespan really depends on how well you treat it. If you're always parked out in the sun, the coating might break down after 4-5 years. If the car is always garaged, you might get 10 years out of the coating. The foglight lens is made from glass and is very very thick, about 5-6mm or so.
