Default GS300 engine has wobbly pulley???

Hey guys,

I literally JUST posted about how I loved my car and that it has 187k on the odo with nary an issue and then I go outside to hear the serpentine belt kinda getting a little squirrelly on one of the pulleys.

Can you guys tell me what I can do to fix this if the pulley highlighted in green is a little wobbly Just change the serpentine belt? (hasn't been replaced in probably 60k miles)

TIA

Clifford

Um... if the pulley is wobbly, then the pulley is the problem.

is that the power steering pump? (cant tell, and dont have my car with me) the shaft can be changed in that case...

I would say undo the belt & check why the pulley is wobbly, loose bolt or wobbly shaft. Is that to your power steering? If the shaft is loose your bearing in your P/S pump is bad.

and in probably a rare occasion, a snapped shaft.. Happened to me twice! (different car) but now that I think about it, it wouldn't be wobbling if it were snapped! so yea duh its the bearing! ha ha sometimes I gotta say to myself what I'm thinking before I really know what I'm saying

can the bearing be replaced by hammering it out of the pulley and then gently hammering in a replacement?

i did this same thing on my belt tensioner pulley. the bearing went bad so i just went to get a $4 bearing and swapped it out. this was approx 60k ago.

I dont know about our cars, but when the bearing went out before the shafts were snapped on the other car, I had to buy the whole pump the bearing wasnt replaceable...
