Default How long did it take for your wheels?

Hey guys ordered Work wheels 7/18/08, still have no idea what the status of them. Dont even know if they have been finished, or shipped. It has been just about 12 weeks now. I was just wondering does this happen often? How long have you guys waited?

OP, from whom did you order from?
FYI, ocean transit is about 10 days from JPN/LGB. from there, your wheels could be railed, trucked, or air'd to the retailer (where you bought them). Then, the retailer will need to ship to you via ups/fedex. also, factor in production time. if any other logistics questions, please feel free to ask

to answer your question, 3 months...on the dot; i wasnt in a hurry.

i order mine through a guy living in Japan. Both of my sets have been specifically chosen by me spec wise so they make them up. My first ones were 3pce VS-XX and ETA was about 8-12 weeks but i got them after 5 weeks.

my current Works Varianzas i got last week, the ETA on those was 4-6weeks, i got them in about 3weeks!

the guy i use sends them EMS Air postage too so its literally 3 days from Japan to Australia then 1 day across from the eastern states to Western Australia and then delivery.

I ordered them from D2 Autosports. They should be giving me a call sometime this week hopefully to let me know if they found any news. At this time I dont even know if they have been finished being made.

factors:
-production time
-ocean (10 days)/air (2-3 days) transit time from JPN to LGB
-transit time from LGB/LAX to Work's authorized dealer (probably on the west coast/CA)
-time for auth dealer to unload/breakdown/receive the shipments
-transit time to ups/fedex ground your wheels to D2 or unless Derrick arranged direct ship to you from the dealer
-wahlah! you get your wheels

so there's quite a bit of logistics involved to get the wheels from factory to your door (and the above is just a vague description). give derrick a call for an update. he's a nice guy.

If you ordered from D2 trust me dont worry at all . your wheels will be there some time soon My wheels took a lil over 3 months . I think Work only ships out at the end of the month. customs can slow things down too sometimes.

Yup some times these orders come in 8 weeks and some times they take 3.5 months but one thing you can bet your bottom dollar on, they are comming. We know how it is waiting on wheels to come from over seas, we deal with it everyday for our customers, just hold on a little longer and make sure you post lots of pics when they do come .

BTW no new updates from when we spoke last, thanks Dan

It took 6 months for my Volks to arrive from Japan. A buddy of mine at a local race shop ordered them for me. There weren't any available in the U.S. in the specs I wanted. You'll have to be patient with custom sets, but if you ordered through Derrick, you will definitely get them.
