Yeah some gas stations only sell regular due to the hurricane. I had to drive around to a few different ones to find one that would sell premium. I got tired of searching today so I just filled up with E85 for $3.10/gal today. Seems like most people don't bother with this corn fuel so it's usually available. I had a little TOO much fun on corn fuel due to it being 106octane straight from the pump. 30psi + going sideways 1st & 2nd + spinning 295wide tires thru 3rd gear = fun!

Just hold on before you get everybody running to the E85 pumps...
I used to work in engineering at one of the Big 3 and I remember the engine guys telling me that E85 is not really a good idea for prolonged use. I was told that engines burning nothing but E85 all the time will experience about 1/2 or even 1/3 life!! and that was referring to engines designed for E85 from the start.

spread 10 cents across even 15 gallons, that's only $1.50 difference per tank.
its just over time that it adds up, but if it were me, id rather spend the $1.50 or $3.00 extra and have my car perform and run the way it should and not run like ****.

as much as it seems harmless, it will gum up an engine as fussy as our 2jz or 1uz/3uz. Even the VQ30 on my old maxima got f*(ked up by it.

not even really, if you look at the difference between 87 and 89 (what i run and it runs just as well as 91 or 93) its only 10 cents. 87 to 91 is 20 cents.

I have a 1999 GS3 with 64,000 running 87 octane with 22.3 mpg in typical suburban traffic. In the 2001 Corvette (premium as well), our GM specialist explained that if we were driving it for performance we would want to run the higher octane but that the sophistication of advanced engines adjust to the fuel. Just food for thought.
