GS300 Octane Question
Does the 2nd Gen Lexus GS300 REQUIRE or RECOMMEND Premium (91) Gas?
I don't own one so I can't look in the manual nor can I look at my gas cap.
I am sure the GS400 and GS430 require 91 octane,
but I am curious to know if the GS300 doesn't knock on 89 octane.
Thanks!

I do only use premium because saving $4 a fill is not much etherway and it would be pointless to have horsepower adding perfomance parts and cheap out on gas. However my girl always uses 86 on her IS, which is the same engine as the GS300 and her car runs fine. She rather spend the extra $4 at Sturbucks that's her fuel

I believe most all performance lexus cars require the 91 octane. The engine will detonate and run crappy. You might be able to get away with running med grade every other tank, as long as you can mix it with 93/prem.

its not big of a deal from 91 to 93 in gas price's its only few cent's more belive it or not
i never put 91 in my car always put 93 , and my car runs fine
i belive right now
prem 93 is $4.59 a gallon
and 91 is $ 4.20 or some thing like that its onyl few cents less why not just pay and get the best ?
on prem gas 93' to me it last longer idk if any 1 feels like that but to me last i dont really drive fast but like i feel that higher gas prem last longer then reg gas

Yeah its about the same here in TN.
You know 90% of the lexus I test drove and looked at stated premium fuel on the cap. So if you can run cheaper without issues, then I would do it. I am all for not buying top notch stuff all the time too. Of course I havent had this lexus long enough to know yet.
