Just signed up to say thanks for this thread. Helped me greatly. I couldn't figure out where the wires from the downline 4-5-6 sensor were going. Low and behold, into the car under the carpet!

Quick question. Just finished replacing this sensor and my 'check engine' light is still on. Do I need to reset this manually somehow? I recall once seeing it go away and come back while driving with this bad sensor. Now that it's been replaced I expected it would go away.

Thanks!

Get it cleared if you can. Or it will clear itself after two consecutive trips. Which who knows how long it could be.

Yup! As reported by others, Bank 2 Sensor 1 has been a real challenge. Replacing Bank 1, Sensor 1 & 2, and Bank 2, Sensor 2 was a piece of cake. This last one is a BEAR!!! I've purchase two different O2 sensor removal tools. There's just no room to get enough leverage on it. I have the "crows foot" type O2 sensor removal tool and even purchased the one that is designed for "Ford" O2 sensors, since the handle is angled, but to no avail. Using the Crows Foot removal tool with a non-ratchet 1/2" breaker bar, seemed to give me the best "bite" and a little more room for leverage, as this combination has the least amount of "flex". But I quickly realized I was "rounding" the edges of the sensor slightly, so I stopped before I totally screwed up the area necessary to get a socket or wrench on it. I've sprayed the heck out of it with WD40 type stuff, but that sucker won't budge. Has anyone just resolved to removing the Bank 2 exhaust manafold to get to this Bank 2 Sensor 1? BTW, it's on a 03 GS300.

Default O2 sensor replacement

How do you access O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 ? From top or from bottom of car ? Where is located near ? Thanks for your help. There is a diagram posted but it is too simplified and it is hard to picture where it is actually located.
