Talking Thanks....

Thanks for all the comments guys.
I just wanted to get input from people who really appreciate the wheels and the car.
I get so much Sh*t from co-workers and family about purchasing these things. People just do not understand why they cost so much and why I would even think about getting them.
People at work are always like that. I dont get it. People think I am crazy for not exposing my car (and wheels) to the harsh SALTY michigan winter weather. Ohh well.
Tires are next.
Pics will come after that.
Later.
MIKE

Default Info from HRE

Here is what Bob from HRE sent me. Makes me feel a lot better about he fitament issue. Looks to be all good.

"Your front wheels appear to stick out because the suspension is
unloaded- as the suspension is loaded, it swiings through a small arch,
and basically the wheels will tuck in. All cars with this type of upper
& lower A-arm suspension will appear to do this: NSX's, Legends, SCs,
LSs, etc. Not to worry... they'll fit perfectly. Here is the data:
Front 18x8.5 +37
Rear 18x10 +45"

Manaray....what were your wheels at?

Thanks,
MIKE

Spartan, if Bob told you it'll fit, it'll fit.

I'm running

20" x 8.5" +38 up front
20" x 9.5" +37 out back

I can FULLY tuck both the front and rear and have no rubs with no fender modifications.

After seeing these pics i'm not sure why anyone would pay $200 per wheel to have these chromed when the full polish looks amazing.. Kudos Spartan for the choice!

Still waiting to see what the 549 would look like on the GS.. If anyone has a pic of a 549 on the GS please post it up.. Thanks!

Hehehe...damnit! That's what I've been saying all along! Why take the weight penalty of chrome (plus the chance of chipping)?

I bow to you Manaray.. You are most wise when it comes to WHEELS.. I have been refined to be anti-chrome and from now on will only get Full Polish or Diamond Cut..

"Yes I am borg"

Ken

BTW buddy have you sold your 543's as of yet??
I'd take them off your hands but i'm not sure I could run 20's up here even thou they are forged.. Then I would need AP brakes too.. Damn i'm not made of money.. LOL

Default Chrome....

I loved the Polished look when I saw the Swift Racing GS400 in person. Chrome will only make your car heavier. I think the polished look can give you the same luster and shine as chrome. It just takes a little more to keep it from getting scratched.
Next are AP brakes.
Thanks for the props.

Ken - See, with enough time and enough coercion, chrome will hopefully follow the path of the dinosaurs...

Spartan - Yes...AP Brakes...you are already half Borg (HRE's), take the next step into the full Borg membership...you want the brakes. Don't deny it. Food can take a back seat. Imagine the beautiful calipers in RED sitting behind your HRE's...yes...yes....

Hey, I think I like this whole "cult leader" thing... Damn, too bad we don't have more chicks involved!

Default I am in...

Trust me Manaray...
I am gonna be in the "cult"....
I can garuntee that if anyone on this board gets HREs which are built for a big brake upgrade and sees that gap between the caliper and wheel they will get BIG BRAKES. I couldnt lie to myself, I ordered the wheels fully intending on upgrading the brakes. When I travelled to Swift Racing about a year and a half ago I saw MO's GS with the HREs and the black 6 piston AP racing calipers I knew I had to have them. They look so much better in person.
Later.
