CarbonGS and Automan Hit World of Wheels Birmingham 2008
So, I will be keeping everyone up to date via this thread each day that I am here in Alabama! Automan (Mark) and his lovely wife have been very gracious and have put me up in their house for this trip! Thanks guys, your hospitality is unsurpassed and is greatly appreciated! It has been a very long day and I anticipate a very long weekend after today's events. I will update later in this post. Let's start off from last night while I was prepping the car for the show.
As many of you know I am the decal king! lol as far as ELITE and SSI goes. :eekfinger I have an upcoming photoshoot with Tunerzine.com hence the sticker on the front and rear. Alvin did a great job and worked OT hours to get my prject done in time! Thanks man! Here are some pictures he took late last night after the completion of the install!
After a very short night's sleep, I woke up to my dog barking at the top of his lungs at 5AM!!! There was no hope for more sleep so I began cleaning my car in anticipation for the show. My dad and I went back to the shop to pick up my GS4 and bring it home, had some issues with the radiator that needed to be fixed. By that time it was 9:30AM and time to roll out to Birmingham.
Traffic was horrible at the downtown connector and Interstate 20 wasn't any better. I finally arrived in Birmingham at Caveman Motorsports, where Automan's car was just under 3 hours. GA state patrol also pulled me over right before the AL border. Reason = stickers on my rear windshield and he said that the Tunerzine sticker was reflecting directly at him from the sun! I showed him my itinerary and the trophies in the front seat explaining that the car was a show car and I was on my way to the World of Wheels Birmingham. He let me go and even told me good luck! Nice guy!
Some pics of the signing outside and inside. I thought it was pretty interesting so I took some pics. Caveman = barbaric? lol would you want a caveman working on your car?

I watched as they put Automan's car back together!
Hours later they finished and here was one of the results
Got a chance to go grab some grub with Automan at the fine dining of Taco Bell and cleaned up my ride when we got back.
We headed to the show at 3:30 and got there at 4PM. There were a few complications as far as registration goes but needless to say we both got in after a long and persistant waiting period. I don't want to go too deep into detail about the matter since it involves a few individuals of higher power.
More pics will be up tomorrow from the show + completed pics of Automan's air ride install!

thanks seize, it is an honor to show beside automan once again! his car has come a long way and i love it because of it's uniqueness and individualistic style! lots of hard work and dedication!
yeah those are the jdm direct replacement tag light housings. i was lucky enough to score a set in the classifieds section of my.is a few months ago! i love how they light up the whole rear of the car! i appreciate the kind words!
thanks! me either. this show is usually dominated by the antiques and hot rods but i saw a handful of imports.
we appreciate it bro!
thank you!
thanks! yeah kicking each other's butts! we are in the same class but will be judged separately. since i am a ISCA show member i will be judged as ISCA and automan will be in the same category but different class. pretty confusing stuff
