Thank [Insert religous belief here]. Seriously though, it is good that you found this before the trip. Would be horrible to lose a nice car like that and/or potentially a life.

Tony, I'm glad that you found the problem before it happened. I would still recomend that you put a dab of loctite on the nut prior to torqueing the nut down. You wanna torque it about 2 lb/ft. over spec just to be safe since the extra load from our wheels put alot of stress on the suspension pieces. You'll be shocked if I told you that it only takes 10k for me to wear out my front ball joint due to harsh driving condition such as the Dragon and track days..

10k sounds about right for me too
I used to consider it a necessary yearly maintenance item
But I drive the car a lot less now since I'm always working on it lol. I put on like 3-4k a year now.
