Seat Belt Not Retracting...
The seatbelt works fine as far as pulling it from the pillar and latching it to the buckle. but when I unbuckle it and allow the belt to retract back up to the pillar, it just stays there and does not wind up. some times it falls down and i can see the belt dangling out side the car under the door.
After doing research on line, i only found that the LS400 has a problem of not locking when it is buckled, so i cant use the safety issue because its a problem when it is removed.
I wonder if any one of us have this problem as well...

I really hope there is a solution to this cause its getting to the point where im not even trying to roll it back up and just leaving it all loose on the seat, hahahah, it just looks funny but better than getting frustrated and playing with the belt to get it back in when your on your way out of the car.
as far as WD40 goes, not to sure if thats the answer.
I really hope there is a simple solution to this, cause the belt assembly for the LS400 is about 140, so im assuming the GS is similar in price...
now that i think about it our SIENNA is doing the same thing too. the drivers side, as well,
im thinking since it gets used so much, that the spring that retracts the belt has extended its length, and does not have the power to pull it back in... but thats just an idea i have, so not sure

1 being it did nothing and 10 being it fixed the problem completely, I'd say it's a 3-ish. Then again, mine might be worn out to the point where it doesn't have the same spring force as before. I haven't tried it on the passenger side though. I will probably get to it later today or tomorrow. The driver side will obviously be the one that's worn out the most.

But does it at least retract to you wont slam your door onto the belt?
And does it retract the whole belt up in the end on its own?
I'm going to hold til the weather is at least above 0'C to do any work on the car after I get it back...

I don't think the air bag will deploy when you try to put the seatbelt back to its retracted position. also when you are putting the seat belt back, its normally when your car is off and in the park position. if your taking off your seat belt while your driving, uhhhh, i dunno what to say about that one, but I don't think the airbag as anything to do with winding up the belt...
