Default Dirty Speaker Grills

Hi everyone, I just bought my first Lexus (2000 GS4) and I'm trying to find the best way to clean some light stains in the speaker grills. It looks like cloth behind the grill so I don't want to use a liquid cleaner that may make it worse. I'd like to take the grills off but I'm not sure if they are removeable. I looked at quite a few GS's before buying and this seems pretty common. Thanks for any help.

Welcome! I see your in Atlanta, check out www.seloc.net as well, your local Lexus club.

As for the speak grill, I have tried to clean my gray interior to no avail using orange products and other cleaning products...

My brother bought some fabric foam spray stuff that worked. I don't remember what it's called but I can check when I get home. You just spray the foam on, wait 15 minutes for it to lift the dirt, and wipe the foam off with a rag.

I just ran a quick shapmoo machine through my Honda Accord's grills. When I bought it, it seemed as though someone didn't open the windows when they smoked.

This looks like the cloth behind the grills became wet in the past. All I can think of is opening the doors in the rain or leaving the windows cracked in the rain. I know a lot of you guys ( and girls ) keep ur cars spotless inside and out so hopefully somebody has this figured out.

I used the steam cleaner (forgot what it's called, it's one of those you see on tv ads) that my dad picked up at a pawn shop and it worked okay. It certainly helped but didn't get them completely cleaned, especially with the bigger stains. You might want to tell people to watch their feet when they get in and out of your GS to prevent them for getting dirtier. That's how they get dirty, people scuff their shoes on the grill. Either way, sounds like chrispy has the solution . I need to get what he used .
